Yoriko Suzuki – Vice President

Tell us a bit about yourself
I have spent much of my life overseas, dating back to my childhood, when I spent my formative years in England. I was also a Cabin Crew member for an airline that stationed me in Thailand for about six years.

What brought you to Hynd?
I was encouraged some years ago to begin a career in search and had the opportunity to be a consultant in the Life Sciences area. I immediately found my niche in a market that continues to grow. Several years after launching this stage of my career, I decided to join a company that focused solely on Health Care recruitment. In the end, I chose Hynd because of the people, the culture and the solid reputation that this company has built up throughout the health care industry.

What is your consulting style?
Clients who work with me value collaboration and results. I work very closely with my clients to ensure delivery of the right person — the best person — on every search. As I lead the Sales and MR activities, most of my candidates do not live in Tokyo and so it is important that I extend to them empathy and compassion. Changing jobs is a life-changing experience, particularly for my candidates who often have to move to a different prefecture and build new relationships both in their professional and persona lives. So my style is really to be a guide, advisor and life coach to my candidates.

What do you like to do when away from work?
I love to travel and go on new adventures. I like big cities like New York to countries like Nepal. Other than that, I have been practicing yoga and that has helped me provide a healthy life balance.
